At Steel City Wheels, we’re passionate about facilitating van and minivan donations that support families, churches, and small businesses in the Pittsburgh area. With the scenic Three Rivers and the bustling Strip District nearby, many community members are looking to donate their old vehicles for a good cause. Whether you’ve got a family minivan parked outside your Squirrel Hill home or a cargo van that’s seen better days, we’re here to help turn that vehicle into something incredibly valuable.
Pittsburgh families often request vans to accommodate their busy lifestyles. With everything from weekend trips to church outings, your donation could be the key to a better life for someone in need. Plus, our team will handle all the logistics from pickup to paperwork, ensuring a hassle-free experience for you. Let’s work together to keep Pittsburgh moving one van at a time!

Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
We accept both running and non-running vans or minivans. If your van has given up the ghost, it can still make a difference. Don't let the engine troubles stop you from donating!
Title Issues
If your van has title issues or if you've lost the title altogether, don't worry! Contact us for guidance on how we can still facilitate your donation and help clear the way.
Storage/Pickup Logistics
Whether your van is sitting in your driveway or parked at a local marina, we’ll arrange for a free pickup at your convenience. Just let us know where it’s located, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Title transfer & paperwork
When donating a van or minivan in Pennsylvania, you'll need to complete a title transfer to officially remove your name from the vehicle. Make sure to fill out the necessary form (Form MV-1) and provide the odometer reading. If the title is not notarized, don’t worry; we can help guide you through the process. Remember to return your license plates to the DMV to avoid any future complications. Your donation is way easier than navigating the Fort Pitt Bridge during rush hour!
Tax deduction for this donation
As a donor, you can expect a tax deduction typically ranging between $500 and the actual sale price of your van or minivan if sold by Steel City Wheels. We’ll issue you a Form 1098-C, which you can use to claim the deduction on your taxes. Keep in mind that the actual deduction amount can vary, but your generosity certainly goes further than a few bucks at the local diner.
Local context — Pittsburgh
