How pickup works
The pickup process for your RV or motorhome at Steel City Wheels is straightforward and designed to accommodate your specific vehicle's requirements. Our team uses specialized RV-transport flatbeds or drive-away services to ensure your RV is handled with care during transport. If your vehicle is located at a storage lot or RV park, we will coordinate with the facility to arrange a seamless pickup. Keep in mind that the vehicle’s length and height matter, as most states require routing with a maximum clearance of 13’6”. We’re committed to making the donation process as hassle-free as possible for you!
What drives donation value
When donating an RV or motorhome, several factors can influence its value. The condition of house systems, including the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning, tends to hold more weight than the engine and drivetrain conditions. Water damage can significantly devalue your donation, while recent maintenance records can enhance its appeal. Seasonal trends also affect value, with spring auctions often yielding higher returns. For classic RVs, it is prudent to obtain an appraisal, especially when filing IRS Form 8283 Section B. Understanding these aspects can help you make the most of your generous donation.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Service records
- MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) for off-road vehicles
