Vehicles we accept in Pittsburgh

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

At Steel City Wheels, we believe that nearly any vehicle can find new purpose. Whether your car is in good condition or it hasn’t run in years, we welcome donations of all kinds. Every car, truck, motorcycle, or even those extra boats sitting in your yard helps fund our mission to connect Pittsburgh residents with vital assistance programs. From helping families access SNAP to ensuring folks know their options for medical assistance, your vehicle donation makes a real difference. We're here to make the process easy and beneficial for our community, one donation at a time.

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1995-present

Donated cars and sedans are often auctioned off, providing crucial funds to support local programs. If they are not drivable, they can be broken down for parts or recycled responsibly.

Pittsburgh's urban landscape is filled with compact cars and sedans, making them a popular choice for city driving.

Pickup Trucks
1995-present

Pickup trucks are frequently sold at auction, benefiting from their utility and demand in our community. If they aren’t running, parts may be salvaged, contributing to our fundraising efforts.

With many Pittsburghers needing pickups for work or outdoor activities, these vehicles are always in demand.

SUVs & Crossovers
1995-present

SUVs and crossovers often sell well at auction due to their popularity, and if non-functional, they can be stripped for parts or recycled for materials.

Pittsburgh families appreciate the space and versatility of SUVs, making their donation even more impactful for local needs.

Motorcycles
1995-present

Motorcycles may be sold at auction or refurbished for resale, helping to raise funds for essential community services.

The scenic roads around Pittsburgh attract motorcycle enthusiasts, making these donations valuable to locals.

RVs & Campers
1995-present

RVs and campers can either be auctioned off or recycled, depending on their condition. They often bring in significant funds to support programs.

Many Pittsburghers enjoy traveling and camping, so RV donations resonate with our community's spirit.

Boats
1995-present

Boats that are donated can be sold at auction, particularly those in good condition, or turned into parts if not operational.

With rivers flowing through Pittsburgh, boat donations are a unique way to contribute to local support services.

Commercial Vehicles
1995-present

Commercial vehicles often fetch a good price at auction, and if they don’t run, they can still be dismantled for usable parts.

Many local businesses rely on commercial vehicles, so their donation helps strengthen our small business community.

Non-running Vehicles
Any year

Non-running vehicles can be recycled or sold for parts, still generating funds to support our mission.

In a city with strong DIY and restoration cultures, many love giving new life to older vehicles, making this donation especially meaningful.

Condition guide

When considering a vehicle donation, it's important to understand that both running and non-running vehicles are accepted by Steel City Wheels. Running vehicles can typically be auctioned off or reused directly, while non-running vehicles can also be tremendously beneficial to our community. They can be broken down for parts or recycled for scrap. Even if a vehicle has been sitting idle for years, it can still have value.

However, certain conditions can affect the eligibility of your vehicle for donation. For instance, if your title is salvaged or if the vehicle is heavily damaged, it may still qualify under specific circumstances. Each case is assessed individually, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure about your vehicle’s eligibility.

Pickup considerations

Steel City Wheels understands that not every vehicle donation is simple, especially if it’s immobile. Our team will work with you to arrange pickup from your location, whether it’s an apartment complex in the city, a rural home, or even a marina if you’re donating a boat. We’ll handle all the logistics, making the process as convenient as possible for you while ensuring your vehicle’s donation supports your neighbors in need.
